Dylan needs a sibling!

Before any of you get all excited, no we're not pregnant.
But Dylan NEEDS a sibling! For the past few months, I've been nannying. I watch E, a 6 year old, little girl. E has some learning/social disabilities and so, although she is 6 years old, she often seems younger than Dylan. She is adorable and we have so much fun hanging out. A perk of working with E is that I get to bring Dylan along, and let me just say, he adores her! However, the feelings are not mutual and she often ignores him, which makes for some funny happenings.
I often catch Dylan trying to give E hugs. He will run up to her, arms outstretched, and latch them around her waist.....only to be dragged around as she continues walking/running . He tries to keep up with her while she runs around doing her own thing but his little legs just can't keep up. When she disappears out if sight, Dylan always wants to know where she went.
Dylan really likes to help E out too. Whenever she drops anything he will run and pick it up and give it back to her. A toy, her binky, her sippy cup, etc. He is such a helpful little guy!
For the most part, it seems like E doesn't really care that Dylan is there. But every now and then I catch her patting his head. She also loves it when Dylan starts laughing. She'll start giggling too.
They have their own way of playing together a well. E has an indoor swing that she spends a lot of time on. Dylan has tried playing with her on the swing but it always ends up badly for him (the swing is at the perfect height for Dylan head bashing). He finally discovered that, from a safe distance,  he can take one of those big exercise balls and roll it in front of the swing. From there, E can either kick it or swing over it and wedge it under the swing which makes her ride a little bouncy and more fun. After a little while, she'll kick it back out and Dylan will grab it and the game begins again. Dylan really needs a sibling at home to play with while we're not playing with E.
I am so blessed to have such a sweet boy and thankful that we get to be a part of E's life.

Dylan J Fryer

We didn't have our Mr. Dylan last time I was blogging so I thought I'd introduce him. Dylan is 1.5 years old and we have loooooved having him in our family. I'm pretty sure God knew that we needed an easy baby first so we would want more. Dylan has been such a sweetheart from the start. He's always been a great sleeper and a pro eater! He's always quick to smile and laugh and he looooves to be the center of attention and make people laugh.
Recently, Dylan really likes to see Daddy off in the morning. He'll walk to the door, say "bye dad" and as soon as the door is closed, he peeks out the window to watch Daddy drive away.

He also loves to climb up on this stool and play piano for me. It makes me so excited to pass on my love of music to him!

Dylan is a real animal lover. He has grown up with two dogs in the house and they all make such great playmates. He loves most other animals too. Even if he doesn't want to touch them, he is very aware and interested. His most recent favorite is any bird. I pointed a few birds out to him one day and ever since, he has been mesmerized. Then we took a trip to the zoo and went to their bird show. It was like magic for him, especially because we sat right in the flight path of the birds flying over the crowd.

This little man makes my heart so happy!

starting up.....again

it's been over 2 years and I definitely need to start writing again. in the past 2 years, we had a heartbreaking miscarriage and got a dog (Ollie), moved into our house and then finally had a baby (our pride and joy, Dylan), got another dog (Brie) and all in all have loved living our not so perfect life with our beautiful little family. we are so happy with where we are at in life.

I really want to make sure I document our sweet boy growing up so get ready to endure proud/frustrated/silly/bragging/crazy mama moments. our fun family adventures will be included but mostly I just want to start sharing with you again.

C.C.U.= consistently catching up

i am pretty sure that i am always playing catch up. 

so much happens and blogging just doesn't make it into the schedule.

the holidays were wonderful

the mr. and i escaped the snow

 to spend thanksgiving in sunny san diego!

(that rhymed! hehe)

this was the first time josh had spent any extended time in san diego

.....so naturally, we played tourist....

 La Jolla, Sea World, Old Town, The Mormon Battalion Memorial, Point Loma, and Sea Port Village

it was a blast.

being around family made it that much better!

shortly after thanksgiving, we got a dog!

his name is Ollie.

he is 9 months old

he is BIG

he is terrific!

for Christmas, the mr. and i stayed in utah and moved into our new house!

happy holidays to us!

we moved in just in time to decorate for Christmas and enjoy the season

uncle rich celebrated with us and really made it feel like Christmas!

on to the new year!

i fell again today...

another post about my Mr....

what can i say? i'm a newly-wed!

i'm not forcing you to read it ;)

today in nursery, we had a kid who was having a rough day.

he wasn't sharing very well

he kept pushing the kids that were trying to play with his toy

and he kept screaming...

after i had a few failed attempts at correcting his behavior, my Mr took this boy in his arms.

he sat him on his lap and said....

"micah, we can't push our friends. we have to share and be nice. we're at church and Jesus wants us to be nice to our friends. can you be nice and share? if you can't, you have to stay on my lap. will you be nice? will you share your toys and be a good boy?"

he was no where near frustrated or angry.

where i would have been aggravated, he was very calm.

he was so gentle and loving. 

he handled the situation perfectly.

micah nodded, hopped off of my Mr's lap (i would've chosen to stay...)

 and was a good boy for the rest of nursery.

i fell in love with josh all over again.

he will be a wonderful daddy when that time comes.

i'm so glad i married him.

....some other times i fall in love again....

when he sings just loud enough for only me to hear

when he shares his desire to serve our country

when he shovels the snow out of the drive way and off of my car

when he twirls me randomly while we're on a walk

when he speaks french, even though i can't understand a word he's saying

when he tells me everything is going to be alright

every single time he smiles

life and love are so good! :)

my hubbster

i just have to say....

i love this hottie so much!

he works so hard to support our little family

with a full time job and classes, he's been pretty busy

but he still makes time for me!

he is so thoughtful, strong, smart, helpful, loving...

really just way more than i could have ever asked for!

he has reminded me every month on the 17th that its our "month-iversary"

he makes dinner when he gets home first, and washes lots of dishes

he warms my side of the bed up before i crawl under the covers

he gives fabulous massages

he stops at the store to pick up groceries when i ask him to

he goes jogging with me

he does most of the laundry

and he even puts the toilet seat down!

i got so lucky! 

sorry ladies, my mr. fryer truly is the best out there

i love him!
